インドネシアの古都ジョグジャカルタの郊外の山奥にあるパラス石の工房で制作された石鹸入れ。3Dソフトで設計された石鹸トレイを、まだ若いのに経歴15年の職人がすべて手作業により忠実に再現していくその様子は圧巻です。パラス石はマットな白色が美しいインドネシアではこの地方でしか採掘されない砂岩です。とても軽くて表面がざらざらしており、滑りづらいことから石鹸トレイを考案。３種類制作しました。
Soap trays made of pallas stones at a studio inside the mountains located in the suburbs of Jogyakarta, Indonesia. It was an amazing experience to see a young artisan already with 15 years of experience, hand curve the soap tray exactly the same as the original design produced on 3D software. Pallas stones are sand stones unique to this area and has a beautiful matte white color. They are very light yet with rough texture, and doesn’t absorb water so we thought of making soap trays out of them.
